Instead, it should skip onto the bat, giving batters a lot more freedom compared to the previous game, where we saw plenty of slower balls holding up.
If dew arrives later, it becomes a real challenge for bowlers to keep things tight. That’s why 170 is the bare minimum on this pitch, and anything above that gives you a fighting chance. But if you’re below par, defending becomes extremely difficult.
Sri Lanka choosing to bowl first makes sense. They’ll want to chase when the ball skids on even better under dew. With the smaller boundaries and natural bounce of Rawalpindi, runs tend to flow quickly, just like we’ve seen in PSL matches.
Overall, it looks like a fantastic batting strip, and the bowlers will have to work really hard tonight.
