South Africa Announces Squad for T20 Series Against West Indies
The South African team is currently on a tour of South Africa. A three-match T20 series will be played between West Indies and South Africa. The axis of the T20 team will be on the shoulders of Aiden Markram. South Africa has announced the names of 15 players for this series. But veteran players have been left out. Also, two uncapped players have got a place in the team. Quinton de Kock, Enrique Nortje, Tabrez Shamsi, and Kagiso Rabada have been dropped from the squad.
Regarding the selection of players, committee member Walter said that ‘some players’ names have not been considered. There are some reasons behind this. Some players are injured. A decision has been made to manage the workload of some players. Quena played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 tournament. Also, Jason Smith, who performed brilliantly in the T20 Challenge tournament, has been included in the team.

Uncapped Players Get a Chance
The squad includes two uncapped players, Jason Smith and Kwena Mfaka, who have shown promise in domestic cricket. Jason Smith, known for his all-round abilities, impressed in the T20 Challenge tournament by scoring 291 runs with an average of 41.57 and a strike rate of 134.10. He also took the spotlight in the final with a crucial innings of 51 runs. On the other hand, Kwena Mfaka, who performed well in the U-19 World Cup for South Africa, has been given a chance to showcase his talent at the international level
