WTC Final 2025: Australia beat Team India by 6 wickets in the fifth and final match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series on Sunday 5th January. Australia won the series by a margin of 3-1 with this win. Australia also lifted the Border Gavaskar Trophy after 10 years.
Australia Beats India to Reach WTC Final
Australia also beat Team India in the final of the World Test Championship. Australia became the second team to reach the World Test Championship finals 2023-2025. Also, this was the second time in a row that Australia reached the final. Now South Africa vs Australia is going to be a big match for the Test World Cup.
Team India had reached the final of the World Test Championship both times in a row. But Team India faced defeat both times. Team India was first defeated by New Zealand and then by Australia.
Team India had to win in Sydney to reach the World Test Championship final for the third time in a row. But that dream was dashed due to the defeat of Team India and the defending champion Australia reached the final for the second time in a row.

South Africa Joins Australia in WTC Final
Before Australia, South Africa beat Pakistan by 2 wickets in the Boxing Day Test to reach the final. South Africa needed only one win to reach the final. South Africa registered a thrilling 2-wicket win over Pakistan at Centurion and qualified for the final.
This was the first time in the history of the WTC that South Africa had reached the final. Now the thrill of the Test World Cup final is going to be played between arch-rivals South Africa vs Australia.
