South Africa vs Rwanda

South Africa vs Rwanda Preview – Match Preview

South Africa are second in their World Cup qualifying group before the last match. They must win this game to keep their hopes of reaching the World Cup alive.

Earlier, their 2-0 win against Lesotho in March 2025 was changed to a 3-0 loss because they used a suspended player. They later beat Benin 2-0 away and then played in CHAN and COSAFA Cup games.

In September, South Africa defeated Lesotho 3-0 and drew 1-1 at home against Nigeria. Last Saturday, they were held to a 0-0 draw by Zimbabwe in Durban, even though Zimbabwe played with ten men for the last 26 minutes.

Rwanda have managed just one win in their last seven matches. They are already out of the World Cup race but will try to spoil South Africa’s qualification chances.

In June, Rwanda lost both friendlies against Algeria 2-0. They were beaten 1-0 away by Nigeria in September’s qualifier. After winning 1-0 against Zimbabwe, they lost 1-0 at home to Benin last Friday, conceding in the 82nd minute.
