Sri Lanka Squad for Asia Cup 2025: Sri Lanka Cricket Board has announced the 16-member team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 today, on 28 August. The command of the Sri Lankan team for the tournament to be played between 8 countries has been handed over to Charith Aslanka.
It is worth noting that the upcoming 17th season of the Asia Cup is starting from 9 September in the UAE. The first match will be played between Hong Kong and Afghanistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. At the same time, Sri Lanka will start its victorious campaign with a match against Bangladesh on 13 September.

The squad reflects a balanced mix of youth and experience. Pathun Nissanka and Kusal Mendis will strengthen the top order, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahees Theekshana bring depth in the spin department. Defending champions India are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. India will open their campaign against the hosts, the UAE, on 10 September, while the much-awaited India vs Pakistan blockbuster clash is scheduled for 14 September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
