Sri Lankan Spinner Praveen Jayawickrama Banned for One Year
Lankan left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama has been banned from all forms of cricket for one year. The ICC has found him guilty of violating the Anti-Corruption Code (ACU). Jayawickrama has accepted the charges
Praveen Jayawickrama last played for Sri Lanka in 2022. He has appeared in 5 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 5 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka and has a total of 32 international wickets in those 15 matches. Praveen made his debut for Sri Lanka in 2021
These allegations of the ICC are related to international cricket and Lanka Premier League. The ICC has agreed with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and taken action under Articles 1.7.4.1 and 1.8.1 of the Code.
The ICC considered it an offense under the Anti-Corruption Code and banned him. Praveen Jayawickrama is accused of violating Article 2.4.7 of the Code.
