Steve Smith 10000 Runs: During the ongoing Test match between Australia and Sri Lanka at Galle International Cricket Stadium, Steve Smith made history by becoming the 5th fastest cricketer to reach 10,000 Test runs.

Smith was on the verge of achieving this milestone during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But he could not complete it at that time. However, he did not make his fans wait much and created a new history as soon as he hit his first ball. He raised his bat and expressed his gratitude to Usman Khawaja and the fans present in the stadium.

Steve Smith is the Fourth Australian player to achieve this feat:

Steve Smith has done this feat in 205 innings. Smith became the 5th fastest player to score 10,000 Test runs in a Test match. He left Rahul Dravid behind. Dravid had scored 10,000 runs in 206 innings.  With this, Brian Lara has joined the list of great players like Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. Before him, three Australian players have achieved this feat.
