Steve Smith Hits 34th Test Century, Tops List Against India

Steve Smith Century: Australia’s star batsman Steve Smith scored a record-breaking century on the second day of the Boxing Day Test. Smith made the Indian bowlers’ condition tight by scoring a great century at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Steve Smith completed his century facing 167 balls. This was the 34th century of his Test career, to complete which he also hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in the innings.

During this, he made a big record in his name by scoring a century. He has become the first batsman to score the most Test centuries against India. In this case, he surpassed former England Test captain Joe Root.

In fact, on the second day of the Melbourne Test against India, Steve Smith extended his innings to 68 runs. Steve was seen batting brilliantly from the beginning of the game. He, along with captain Pat Cummins, troubled the Indian bowlers from the start of the day. During this, he completed his century on 163 balls. With this century, he broke the record of former England Test captain Joe Root for scoring the most Test centuries against India.

Smith completed his 11th Test century against India with which he became the first batsman to score the most Test centuries against India.

Smith has so far scored 11 centuries and 5 half-centuries in 23 Test matches against India. At the same time, Root, who is ranked first in the ICC Test batsmen rankings, has scored 10 centuries and 11 half-centuries in 30 Test matches against India. Steve Smith also broke the record for scoring the most centuries in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, leaving behind Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Now he has 10 centuries in this trophy, while Kohli and Tendulkar have 9 centuries each.
