Steve Smith Milestone Achievement in the Third ODI Against India
The final match of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia took place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh provided an excellent start to the innings, forming an opening partnership of 78 runs in 49 balls.
Prasidh Krishna of India broke this partnership by dismissing David Warner in the 9th over after he had scored 56 runs off 34 balls. Steve Smith took over the innings after Warner’s departure and, in the process, achieved a new milestone. Australian batsman Steve Smith completed his 5000 runs in ODI cricket, making him the fastest Australian to reach this mark in his 129th innings.
David Warner holds the top spot for scoring the fastest runs in Australian ODI cricket, achieving this milestone in his 115th innings. The record for scoring the fastest 5000 runs in One Day International cricket is held by Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, who accomplished it in his 97th innings.
