Steve Smith Nears 10,000 Test Runs, Poised to Surpass Rahul Dravid’s Record.

On the second day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Gabba in Brisbane, India gained an early advantage in a tightly contested match against Australia. There is a tough competition between the two teams.

With this, Smith is on his way to surpass Rahul Dravid in terms of scoring the fastest 10,000 Test runs. Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara are the players who have scored 10000 runs in Test matches in the shortest time in terms of innings.

Before the start of the third Test, Steve Smith had scored 9,704 runs in 198 innings. Smith needed 296 runs in seven innings to leave behind Indian batsman Rahul Dravid. Steve Smith is unbeaten on 25 runs at lunch on the second day of the third Test. He needs just 271 runs to leave behind Rahul Dravid. Even after this, he has seven innings left.
