Surprising News: Pakistan’s World Cup Warm-Up Match in Hyderabad with No Fans Allowed – Why?

Pakistan’s first warm-up match leading up to the ODI World Cup is set to be a unique affair, taking place behind closed doors in Hyderabad due to security concerns, as announced by the BCCI. Babar Azam’s team will face off against New Zealand on Friday, but regrettably, fans won’t have the opportunity to witness the action live inside the stadium. This decision was made based on the guidance of local security agencies, ensuring everyone’s safety.

The BCCI explained, “The match in Hyderabad coincides with festivals on the day and large gatherings are expected around the city.” As a result, spectators who had purchased tickets for the game will be eligible for a full refund.

It’s important to note that India and Pakistan have suspended bilateral cricket and only engage in cricketing contests during multi-team events. Pakistan will participate in another warm-up match against Australia on October 3 before commencing their quest for a second 50-overs World Cup title against the Netherlands three days later.

The 1992 champions, who recently received their visas after a slight delay, are scheduled to depart for India via Dubai on Wednesday. While fans may not be able to attend this particular warm-up match, the anticipation for Pakistan’s performance in the World Cup remains high, and cricket enthusiasts are eager to see how they fare in this prestigious tournament.
