Suryakumar Yadav injury update: Team India star Suryakumar Yadav has landed in London just before India’s five-match Test series against England. While Shubman Gill will lead the Indian side and Ben Stokes will captain England, Suryakumar is not part of the Test squad. His sudden presence in the UK during the off-season sparked curiosity, but recent reports suggest he is in London for a personal reason—a medical procedure.

Suryakumar Yadav to Undergo Medical Treatment

This Test series, starting June 20 at Headingley in Leeds, is the first in the new ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle. It also marks a fresh chapter for India following the retirement of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from red-ball cricket in May 2025.

According to a report by RevSportz, Suryakumar Yadav is currently in London for a medical procedure that could take one to two months. Journalist Rohit Juglan shared this update on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that with a gap in India’s white-ball schedule, this is the right time for Surya to focus on his recovery.

There is no confirmation yet on whether he will miss any future matches. India’s next T20I series is not been officially announced, though discussions are ongoing about a possible series against Bangladesh. India is also expected to tour Australia later this year for white-ball games.

Surya’s Recent Form in IPL and T20 Mumbai League

Before travelling to London, Suryakumar played for Triumphs Knights MNE in the 2025 T20 Mumbai League, where he scored 122 runs in 4 innings with a strike rate of 158.44.

He also had a brilliant IPL 2025 season for Mumbai Indians, scoring 717 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 167.91. He became the first non-opener to score 700+ runs in a single IPL edition and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. Despite his efforts, MI lost to PBKS in Qualifier 2 and failed to reach the final.
