Sydney Thunder have confirmed a 14-player squad with one change ahead of their return to Canberra, where they will face the Brisbane Heat at Manuka Oval in the Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL|15).
Allrounder Aidan O’Connor has been added to the squad in place of spinner Tom Andrews and could be in line to make his Big Bash debut. The adjustment comes as the Thunder look to secure their first victory of the season after narrow losses in their opening two matches.

Despite the slow start, Sydney Thunder will take confidence from their strong record in the nation’s capital. Canberra has traditionally been a favourable venue for the side, with the Thunder boasting an impressive winning history at Manuka Oval in recent seasons.
The squad update follows an encouraging display in their most recent outing, as the Thunder recorded an 18-run victory over the Melbourne Stars. Wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings starred with a composed 72, earning the Player-of-the-Match award and providing a timely lift to the team’s morale.
Captained by experienced opener David Warner, the Thunder squad boasts a well-balanced mix of international experience and emerging talent.
Warner is supported by established performers such as Shadab Khan, Daniel Sams and Reece Topley, while young prospects Sam Konstas and Blake Nikitaras add depth and flexibility to the batting line-up.
In the bowling department, Chris Green and Tanveer Sangha are expected to control the middle overs, with Nathan McAndrew and Sams providing pace options.
The team continues to be guided by head coach Trevor Bayliss, whose vast experience at the highest level will be vital as the Thunder look to build momentum early in the tournament.
