India Women’s Team Gears Up for T20 World Cup 2024
In June, India’s men’s cricket team led by Rohit Sharma won the Twenty20 World Cup 2024 title. After a long time, the ICC trophy has arrived in India and there is an atmosphere of jubilation everywhere. Now four months later, India’s women’s cricket team is playing on a bigger platform like the World Cup. The Women’s World Cup has started on the 3rd, and India is playing its opening match against New Zealand on Friday. Team India has yet to win the title of this tournament even once. So the team under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur has a huge responsibility.

Harmanpreet said that our goal is the same as Rohit Sharma’s. Women’s Twenty20 World Cup is a big opportunity for us. The win by the men’s team is inspiring and we are well prepared. A positive atmosphere in the team will certainly benefit. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur mentioned that this tournament is a good opportunity we always talk about in the dressing room. She was talking to ‘Times of India’.
India’s squad includes a strong mix of experienced players like Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Jemima Rodrigues, along with young talents like Shreyanka Patil and Asha Shobhana. The team’s schedule is packed with tough matches, starting against New Zealand on October 4, followed by games against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia. Semi-finals will take place on October 17 and 18, with the final scheduled for October 20.
