T20 World Cup 2024: A Grand Return to North America
The 2024 edition of the ICC T20 World Cup will begin in June. 16 warm-up matches will be played in 17 countries from May 27 to June 1. Cricket is making a big comeback in North America through the T20 World Cup. The upcoming season of the ICC T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by USA and former champions West Indies
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the practice schedule for the T20 World Cup on May 16. Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, Broward County Stadium in Florida, Queen’s Park Oval, and Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago will host 16 warm-up matches ahead of the T20 World Cup. A total of 17 teams will participate in the practice match. South Africa will play an intra-squad match in Florida.
Tournament Structure and Key Venues
The T20 World Cup will follow a round-robin format within each group, with each win worth two points and ties or draws earning one point each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8s, leading to the semi-finals and ultimately the final, which will be held at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
