Team India For Champions Trophy: The Indian cricket team is currently playing a series of five T20 International matches against England. The fourth match of this series is to be played in Pune on Friday, while the fifth and last match of the series will be played in Mumbai on February 02. After this series, the Indian team will play a series of three ODIs against England.

Team India to Depart for the Champions Trophy on February 15

The ODI series will start from Nagpur, while the last match of the series will be played in Ahmedabad. After this series, the Indian team will be seen playing directly in the Champions Trophy. The 15-member Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has been announced for the Champions Trophy. However, it has not yet been known when Rohit Sharma and company will fly.

At the same time, a Times of India report has claimed that the Indian team will fly to Dubai for the Champions Trophy on February 15. However, more information about Team Indiaโ€™s journey can be found in the coming days.

The Indian team is to start its campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 and before their first match of the Champions Trophy, Team India will camp in Dubai and during this time they will not have any practice match.

No Captainsโ€™ Photoshoot in Pakistan

At the same time, in another update regarding the Champions Trophy, there will be no photoshoot or press conference of the captains in Pakistan, which has ended the possibility of the Indian captain travelling there for the pre-tournament program. A source in the host cricket board gave this information to PTI on Thursday.

A source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the PCB was forced to cancel the captainsโ€™ press conference before the tournament due to the โ€˜unavailability of teams due to busy travel schedulesโ€™.

The source said, โ€œThe thing is that all the teams have a busy schedule before the tournament. England and India are playing white ball series while the Australian team is playing Test and ODI series in Sri Lanka.โ€

Champions Trophy Opening and Stadium Renovations

He also said that the PCB will organize a program to start the tournament in Lahore on February 16 instead of the official opening ceremony. As per tradition, the captains of all the participating teams gather for a pre-tournament photo session before the start of an ICC tournament.

The current edition of the Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played from February 19 to March 9 and will be held at three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai.

India will not travel to Pakistan due to security reasons and will instead play all their matches in Dubai. If they qualify for the final, the title clash will also be played in Dubai. The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held at Huzur Bagh in Lahore.

A PCB source confirmed that chairman Mohsin Naqvi approved the list of events scheduled ahead of the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 19. The PCB will officially inaugurate the renovated Gaddafi Stadium on February 7 for which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been invited as the chief guest.

The PCB will also launch the renovated National Stadium at a ceremony in Karachi on February 11 for which President Asif Ali Zardari has been invited as the chief guest.
