Talking about the selected team, the 3 top-order batsmen of the Indian team are not included in this team. KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli are not part of the T20 team. Rohit Sharma is already running out of the team due to injury. Virat Kohli has once again started the new year with a break. Many players involved in the Bangladesh tour have not been included in the team against Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant’s name is not in the list. Experienced bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar also could not make his place in the team.
Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi got a chance for the first time. Bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi made a splash in the IPL auction and were included in the T20 team for the first time. It is a different matter whether these players get a place in the playing XI or not.
Ishaan Kishan and Sanju Samson have been included in the T20 team as wicketkeepers, while Samson has not got a chance in the ODI team. Apart from Ishaan Kishan in ODIs, KL Rahul is included as a wicketkeeper.
