Sikandar Raza’s Record-Breaking Century Leads Zimbabwe to Historic T20 Score
Thanks to the stormy innings of Sikandar Raza (133*), Zimbabwe scored the highest score in T20 International history against Gambia on Wednesday. The 12th match of the Sub Regional Africa Qualifier was played at Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi, in which a flurry of records was made.
Sikandar Raza scored his century in just 33 balls and became the joint-second batsman to score the fastest century in the T20 International format. Sikandar Raza batted at a strike rate of 309.30 against Gambia. During his innings, he scored an unbeaten 133 runs in 43 balls with the help of seven fours and 15 sixes.

Top Fastest Centuries in T20I
Raza now joins an elite list of players who have scored the fastest centuries in T20 Internationals. He shares the second spot with Namibia’s John Nicole Lofty-Eaton, who also scored a century in 33 balls earlier in 2024. Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan holds the record for the fastest century, achieving the feat in just 27 balls against Cyprus.
Other players on this prestigious list include Nepal’s Kushal Malla (34 balls) South Africa’s David Miller, India’s Rohit Sharma, and Czech Republic’s Sudesh Wickramasekara, all with centuries in 35 balls. Raza’s innings is a significant milestone for Zimbabwean cricket, as he became the first player from his country to score a T20I century.
