ICC’s Vision for Women’s Cricket Growth

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the upcoming tournament, stating, “This is a special event for the ICC and an important part of our global growth strategy to raise the profile of women’s cricket and grow the sport around the world. It is also a unique opportunity to introduce our global audience to the stars of the future.”

Allardice further added, “We look forward to building on the success of the foundations laid at the inaugural tournament in South Africa in 2023. We wish all the teams the best of luck in their preparations and the Malaysian Cricket Association for organizing the event.”

Originally, Thailand was set to co-host the tournament but has since withdrawn, leaving Malaysia as the sole host. Malaysia previously hosted the Under-19 Men’s World Cup in 2008, which featured future stars like Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith. The upcoming tournament is expected to continue the tradition of spotlighting emerging talents in the cricketing world.
