 Usman thanks everyone:

Usman Qadir announced his retirement on his social media and wrote, “Today, I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket. My cricket journey has been fantastic. I want to thank everyone for this. Representing your country is an honourable job. I thank my coach and teammates who supported me at every step.

He further said, ‘During his cricket career, he has won many titles and also faced many challenges. Every aspect of cricket has strengthened my career. I have always got to learn something new. I am very grateful to my cricket fans who have been with me every moment. It is because of their unwavering support that I have been able to reach here. Your unwavering support means a lot to me.’

Expressing his last words, he remembered his father and wrote, ‘I am going to step into a new chapter. I will carry forward my father’s legacy. My love for cricket and the lessons taught to me by him. I am taking with me the spirit of Pakistan cricket and some lovely memories. Thank you for everything.’

For being recently dropped from the national team, Usman blamed former PCB technical director Mohammad Hafeez.  Giving his statement on a YouTube channel, he said, former T20 captain Shaheen Afridi had assured him of selection for the New Zealand series in January on the basis of his recent performance in domestic cricket. Hafeez protested against this and his career has been affected due to his interference.
