Evolution of IPL Format:
The IPL format has evolved over the years to accommodate the growing number of teams and enhance the competitiveness of the tournament. In 2022, the addition of Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants expanded the league to 10 teams. Consequently, the league round structure underwent modifications to maintain balance and fairness in match distribution.
