South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj created history in the first Test match against West Indies. Keshav took three wickets during the first innings of West Indies in the first Test match against West Indies. By doing this, a special record was registered in the name of the ‘Maharaja’ of South African cricket. Keshav has become only the second spinner to take more than 250 wickets for South Africa in international cricket. Before him, only Imran Tahir has done such a feat for South Africa as a spinner. Imran has taken a total of 291 wickets in international cricket for South Africa.

Keshav Maharaj’s achievement also places him as the 11th South African bowler to surpass 250 international wickets. Shaun Pollock leads this list with 823 wickets, followed by Dale Steyn, who has 697 wickets. Maharaj’s milestone adds to his reputation as one of South Africa’s key players.
