Big Increase in Prize Money
The ICC has increased the prize money for the 2024 T20 World Cup edition as compared to the previous World Cup. The ICC has increased the prize money for the 2024 T20 World Cup to $7,958,080, which is more than double the amount of the 2023 edition. This significant increase has ensured that the winner of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will get a huge amount of $2.34 million (about Rs 20 crore), which is 134% more than the amount of $1 million (about 8 crores) given to champions Australia in 2023.
The runner-up team of Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will also be showered with money. The prize money of the runner-up team has also increased by 134% compared to the last World Cup, which will give them an amount of $1.17 million in the upcoming edition. Each semi-finalist will get $675,000 (2 lakh 10 thousand), which is three times more than their 2023 payment.

Tournament Schedule and Teams
This time 10 teams are participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which have been divided into two groups of 5 each. In this, Group-A includes women’s teams of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand. At the same time, Group-B includes women’s teams of Bangladesh, South Africa, England, Scotland and West Indies.
The last match of the group stage will be played on October 15, while the top-2 teams from both the groups will confirm their place directly for the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will be played on 17th and 18th October at Sharjah ground, while the final match of the tournament will be played on 20th October.
