Team India Starts Super 8 with Victory
Team India has made a winning start in the Super 8 round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 tournament. India has won the match against Afghanistan by 47 runs. Team India challenged Afghanistan to 182 runs for victory. Chasing these runs, Afghanistan packed up for 134 runs in 20 overs. After the batsmen of Team India, the Indian bowlers performed their role perfectly. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah both took 3 wickets each for Team India. Before that, Suryakumar Yadav scored 53 runs and vice-captain Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs.

Strong Performance by Indian Batsmen and Bowlers
Team India won the toss and captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat. India scored 181 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Suryakumar Yadav scored the highest 53 runs from Team India. Surya hit 5 fours and 3 sixes in 28 balls. Hardik Pandya contributed 32 runs. Others got off to a good start, but couldn’t make big innings. Virat Kohli was out on 24, Rishabh Pant on 20. Rohit Sharma scored 8 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 7 runs. Shivam Dubey was disappointed again. Shivam returned after scoring 10 runs. Akshar Patel added 12 runs. While Arshdeep Singh scored 2 unbeaten runs. For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Rashid Khan took 3 wickets each. Naveen Ul Haq lost 1 wicket.

Afghanistan’s Struggle
Team India’s bowlers attacked Afghanistan at regular intervals from the start. Therefore, Afghanistan could not make a comeback in the match. Azmatullah Omarzai was the top scorer for Afghanistan with 26 runs. Apart from that, not a single bowler of Team India has cleared the 20-par mark. Rahmanullah Gurubaz 11, Hazratullah Zazai 2, Ibrahim Zadran 8, Gulabdin Naeeb 17, Najibullah Zadran 19, Mohammad Nabi 14, Rashid Khan 2 and Noor Ahmed 12 scored for Afghanistan. Naveen Ul Haq could not even crack a pumpkin. Fazalhaq Farooqui remained unbeaten on 4 runs. Both Bumrah and Arshdeep from Team India were well supported by other bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav showed the two the way out of the field. Akshar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja both took 1 wicket each.
