Babar Azam blasts BCCI

Asia Cup 2023: The Asia Cup tournament is starting today, and it’s being hosted by both Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The first match is between Pakistan and Nepal, and it’s happening in Multan. This tournament is beginning after some exciting events. Just before the first match, Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan team, made an important statement about the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that the Indian team won’t go to Pakistan due to safety reasons. So, the Asia Cup 2023 will take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

During a session of Babar Azam’s ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Pakistan captain openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the role of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Prior to the opening match against Nepal, Babar Azam shared his thoughts in a press conference, stating that in his opinion, it would have been better if the entire tournament had been held in Pakistan. Unfortunately, there’s nothing that can be done about it now.

After the match against Nepal, the Pakistan team is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka on August 31st for a match against India. The much-anticipated India-Pakistan match is set for September 2nd. Following their victory over Afghanistan in the ODI series, the Pakistan team has now claimed the top spot in the ODI rankings. Babar Azam remarked, “We will strategize for the match against India when the time comes. It was only when I took over as captain that I decided to shift the team’s mindset, and it seems I’ve succeeded in that.”

The Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup includes: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Iftikhar Ahmed, Taib Tahir, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usman Mir, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Afridi.
