Australian Cricket Squad Undergoes Major Shift: Mitchell Starc’s Wife Assumes Captaincy for Upcoming India Tour

Australia Women Team : Australia women cricket team will be visiting India in December-January. The Indian women’s team will play a three-format series against Australia at home.

Before this tour Australia wicketkeeper batsman Lisa Healy has been named the team’s regular captain for all three formats.

Apart from this, Tahlia McGrath was given the responsibility of vice-captain. This change was made after Meg Lanning made a breakthrough in international cricket. In fact Alyssa Healy is the wife of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

Meanwhile, Meg Lanning was the backbone of the Australian team for a long time. In the future, the Australian team will tour India for the first time under the leadership of Healy, which will begin from December 21 with a Test match.

After this, both teams will play a three-match ODI series from December 28 and a three-match Twenty20 series from January 5.

Starc’s wife has also captained the team before. As interim captain, she has captained England, Ireland and West Indies.

Apart from this, Tahlia McGrath, who became the vice-captain, has also taken charge of the Australian women’s team. She has led the team twice in Alyssa Healy’s absence.

Given Alyssa Healy‘s experience, the team management entrusted her with this responsibility. She plays in all three formats for the team. Healy has so far played seven Tests, 101 One Day Internationals and 147 Twenty20 Internationals.

She managed to score 286 runs in 12 Test innings, including two fifties. Apart from this, she scored 2761 runs while batting in 89 innings in ODIs.

She has five centuries and 15 half-centuries to her name in ODIs. Healy has scored a century in Twenty20 internationals as well.
