Pakistan Dominates Day 1, But Babar Azam Struggles Again
The first day of the Multan Test match against England was dominated by Pakistani batsmen. Captain Shan Masood along with opener Abdul Shafiq smashed the shoulders of the bowlers of the rival team by scoring centuries. Babar Azamโs run struggle seemed to end on a bowler-friendly pitch. But in the end, it ended up cheap again. After facing 71 balls, he returned to the tent on 30 runs. While set a good platform on the Flat pitch, he failed to make a big hit.
The pitch is batsmen-friendly on the first dayโs play, which is evident from Pakistanโs scoreline. But in this situation, Chris Woakes made a perfect setup and trapped Babar Azam in his net. Woakes took the ball before Babar was caught, then brought it inside, confusing Babar. He was found in front of the wicket and Babur had to return to the tent after being distraught.
Babar Azamโs Recent Struggles
Babar Azam hasnโt scored more than 50 runs since 2022, let alone a big innings. The performance in the last 15 innings is a nightmare for a cricketer. His poor performance is adding to the woes of the Pakistan team. Hereโs a look at his scores:
At the end of the first day, the Pakistan team scored 328 runs for 4 wickets in the Multan Test match. Pakistan won the day. But again there was disappointment in Babarโs ranks. He lost his wicket as LBW after being set in 70 balls
