Pakistan Dominates Day 1, But Babar Azam Struggles Again
The first day of the Multan Test match against England was dominated by Pakistani batsmen. Captain Shan Masood along with opener Abdul Shafiq smashed the shoulders of the bowlers of the rival team by scoring centuries. Babar Azam’s run struggle seemed to end on a bowler-friendly pitch. But in the end, it ended up cheap again. After facing 71 balls, he returned to the tent on 30 runs. While set a good platform on the Flat pitch, he failed to make a big hit.
The pitch is batsmen-friendly on the first day’s play, which is evident from Pakistan’s scoreline. But in this situation, Chris Woakes made a perfect setup and trapped Babar Azam in his net. Woakes took the ball before Babar was caught, then brought it inside, confusing Babar. He was found in front of the wicket and Babur had to return to the tent after being distraught.
