India and Pakistan Set to Compete in Hong Kong Cricket Sixes
India will participate in the upcoming edition of Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. Cricket Hong Kong gave this information on social media. The tournament will be played from 1 to 3 November at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground, in which 12 teams will participate.
Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2024 will be the 20th edition of this tournament. The tournament is returning after seven years. In this 3-day tournament, matches will be played from 8:30 am to 6 pm. Stars like great Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have participated in this tournament in the past.
Let us remind you that this tournament was last played in 2017. Hong Kong Sixes is a six-a-side international cricket tournament. It is approved by the ICC. The tournament is organized by Cricket Hong Kong. The first edition of the tournament was played in 1992. The rules of this tournament are very special.
In this, every player (except the wicketkeeper) is required to bowl one over. There are six players in each team. A match of 5-5 overs is played. India has won this tournament only once so far. India defeated West Indies by 4 wickets in the final in 2005. Former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh was the captain of the Indian team.
Pakistan has announced its team for this tournament. Faheem Ashraf will lead the seven-member team and Asif Ali will also be a part of this team. The Pakistan Cricket Board said, “Faheem Ashraf will lead the seven-member Pakistani team that will participate in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes at Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground in Hong Kong. The 12-team tournament will be played from November 1 to 3.”
Pakistan squad for the tournament: Faheem Ashraf (captain), Aamer Yamin, Asif Ali, Danish Aziz, Hussain Talat, Muhammad Akhlaq (wicketkeeper) and Shahab Khan.
