Shubham Sangale·

BAN vs PAK T20 Series: Pakistan cricket is hell bent on embarrassing itself every day. Sometimes Pakistan Cricket Board takes such decisions that land it in trouble and make it a laughing stock, and sometimes the Pakistani team lowers its performance to a very low level. This time, Pakistan has crossed all limits. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by eight runs in the second T20 match played in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s Batting Collapse Shocks Fans

Chasing a modest target of 134 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for just 125 in 19.2 overs. It was a poor display of batting, with seven Pakistani batters failing to even reach double figures. The downfall began with Saim Ayub getting run out for just 1 run. Mohammad Haris and Fakhar Zaman soon followed, scoring 0 and 8 runs respectively.

The middle order crumbled even more miserably. Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz both went back to the pavilion without scoring. Captain Agha Salman too failed to impress and was dismissed for just 9. At one stage, Pakistan were 30/6 – a scoreline that showed the depth of the collapse.

Only Faheem Ashraf offered resistance, scoring a fighting 51 off 32 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes. But his dismissal in the 19th over ended Pakistan’s hopes. Pakistan needed 13 runs in the final over, but Mustafizur Rahman ended the match by bowling Ahmed Danial on the second ball.

Jaker Ali Leads Bangladesh’s Fight

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and batted first. Their start was poor too, losing 4 wickets for just 28 runs. However, Jaker Ali and Mehdi Hasan Miraz built a solid partnership. Mehdi scored a quick 33 off 25 balls before getting out.

Jaker Ali stood strong and took the innings deep. He scored 55 runs off 48 balls with 1 four and 5 sixes, helping Bangladesh post 133 before getting out on the last ball of the innings. It wasn’t a big total, but in the end, it was enough to beat a struggling Pakistani side.
