Chasing a target of 125 runs, BAN faced a challenging task but managed to achieve it in 19 overs with eight wickets down. Tauheed Hridoy was the top scorer for Bangladesh, playing a crucial knock of 40 runs off 20 balls. Liton Das provided substantial support with 36 runs, while Mahmudullah remained unbeaten with a vital 16 runs to steer Bangladesh home.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers, led by Nuwan Thushara, who took four wickets, made the chase difficult for Bangladesh. Wanindu Hasaranga took two wickets, and Mathish Pathirana claimed one. Despite these efforts, Sri Lanka couldn’t prevent Bangladesh from clinching their first T20 World Cup victory against them.
