NZ vs BAN – The ongoing three-match T20 series between Bangladesh and New Zealand sees Bangladesh leading 1-0. New Zealand, after losing the first match, aimed for a comeback in the second. However, rain interrupted the second match after just 11 overs, favoring Bangladesh.
New Zealand now needs a win in the third match to level the series. Bangladesh, benefitting from the rain, eyes its first T20 series win on foreign soil. The focus is on Bangladesh‘s performance in the upcoming third T20 match, with expectations of a challenging match against New Zealand, who lost the toss and bowled first in the second T20.
New Zealand got a shock in the form of Finn Allen in the second over. Shoriful Islam showed him the way to the tent. He scored 2 runs in 5 balls. Tim Seifert and Daryl Mitchell then pitched the innings.
Tim Seifert returned to the tent with 43 off 23 balls. Najmul Hossain took his catch off the bowling of Tanzim Hasan Saqib. Daryl Mitchell was on 18 not out and Glenn Phillips was on 9 not out before the game was abandoned.

The rain made an appearance at 8 pm local time. At that time, New Zealand was 72 for 2 in 11 overs. After that, the cut-off time for the 5 over game was fixed at 10:28 PM.
But the rain did not abate and the umpires called off the game at 9:55 PM. The two teams will now meet at the same venue on New Year’s Eve for the third and final T20I.
