BCCI’s New Rule Costs MS Dhoni Crores
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has caused a loss of crores to its most successful captain MS Dhoni. The BCCI has caused this loss by making a rule. In the IPL Governing Council meeting held on Saturday, the BCCI has taken some decisions, one of which has cost MSD crores of rupees. However, it has become clear that Dhoni will play in IPL-2025 and will try to get the title for Chennai Super Kings.
Dhoni’s fans want Mahi to be seen in the yellow jersey. Every year news arises about Dhoni’s retirement and it is said that this will be his last IPL, but MSD will come back again next year. The decision taken by the BCCI has made it clear that MSD will play in the IPL this season but for this, he will have to bear a loss of crores.
In the IPL Council meeting, the BCCI has changed the rules regarding uncapped players. The board will now include those players in the uncapped list who said goodbye to international cricket five years ago. Apart from this, the players who are not in the BCCI central contract will also be included in the list of uncapped players. Dhoni said goodbye to international cricket on 15 August 2020. Since then he is playing in the IPL. In such a situation, he can now be included in the list of uncapped players.
If Dhoni is retained as an uncapped player, then Chennai Super Kings can keep him with them by paying Rs 4 crore. In such a situation, MSD will suffer a loss of eight crores because earlier Chennai had retained Dhoni by paying 12 crores. If Dhoni had not been retained as an uncapped player and the franchise retained him as a capped player, MSD would have got Rs 12 crore, but now he will be retained as an uncapped player, in such a situation he will get a maximum of four crores.
As the IPL approaches, fans will be closely watching to see how Dhoni navigates this new situation while continuing his legacy in the tournament.
