38-year-old David Warner has recently retired from international cricket. After leaving the ODI and T20 format, he also retired from the Test format. Despite his illustrious career, no IPL franchise was interested in including him in their team, so the Australian legend remained unsold in this mega auction. David Warner’s base price was Rs 2 crore.
David Warner is the fourth-highest run-scorer in IPL history. He has also been the Orange Cap winner in the 2016 edition. After Devdutt Padikkal, David Warner is the second player in the first list of the mega auction who remained unsold.
A total of 1574 players registered in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction including 1165 Indian and 409 foreign players. At registration, 320 players were capped while 1224 players were uncapped.
Warner’s auction slot was number 204, but he found no buyers during his turn.
