IPL 2025 Auction Live: Big Bids and Top Players in First Marquee Set
IPL 2025 Auction Live: Ahead of the IPL 2025, the mega auction is taking place. All ten franchises are trying to strengthen their team. So all eyes were on this first set. It featured Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Jos Buttler, Mitchell Starc and Kagiso Rabada.
IPL 2025 Auction: Key Players and High Bids
The IPL bid started with Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep Singh was released by Punjab Kings. So it seemed that he would not be taken back. But Punjab Kings had something else in mind. Used an RTM card worth Rs 18 crore for him and took him into the team.
After Arshdeep Singh, there was bidding for Kagiso Rabada. 10.75 crores for Kagiso Rabada by Gujarat Titans. But after this bid, Punjab Kings were once again asked for the RTM card. But he refused to use the RTM card and Rabada went to Gujarat.
Shreyas Iyer came third on this list. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders won the title in the last season. So there was a tug of war in Punjab and Delhi to get him in the team. But Punjab took 26.75 crores in the team.

Star Players Find New Homes
Mitchell Starc released by Kolkata Knight Riders was the talk of the town. Attention is paid to how much he gets in this auction. Mitchell Starc fetched Rs 24.75 crore in the 2023 mini auction. But this time Delhi took him for Rs 11.75 crore. Kolkata did not use an RTM card either.
Jos Buttler was released by Rajasthan Royals. Because after retaining six players, they had no choice. So it was difficult for him to pay big money. Finally, Gujarat Titans took him into their team after spending 15.75 crores.
Rishabh Pant was the last name to appear in the first set of Marquee players. This name was the most discussed. Estimates were already being made about how many crores will be received. What’s more, Delhi also used an RTM card for Rishabh Pant. But seeing the bid of 27 crores made by Lucknow Super Giants, they too took a step back.
