ICC Announces December Player of the Month Nominees

ICC has announced the nominees for Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month for December. Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Dan Patterson have been nominated in the Men’s category. At the same time, Smriti Mandhana, Annabel Sutherland and Nonkululeko Mlaba are nominated in the Women’s category.

Men’s Player of the Month Nominees

• Jasprit Bumrah (India): Jasprit Bumrah recently played a great game in the Test series against Australia. He took 22 wickets in the three matches held in December. He took four wickets in the Adelaide Test, 6 in Gabba and 9 in Melbourne. Apart from Player of the Month, Bumrah has also been nominated for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year awards.
• Pat Cummins (Australia): Under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, Australia won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India after 10 years. In December, he scored 144 runs and took 17 wickets at an average of 17.64 in the Test against India.
• Dane Paterson (South Africa): South African player Dan Paterson has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month for the first time, he took 13 wickets. In the second Test match against Sri Lanka, he won the Player of the Match award with a five-wicket haul. Based on his spell, South Africa won by 109 runs.

Women’s Player of the Month Nominees

• Smriti Mandhana (India): Smriti Mandhana scored 463 runs in ODI and T20 formats in December. She played an innings of 105 runs against Australia in Perth. At the same time, she scored three consecutive half-centuries in T20 and two in ODI against West Indies.
• Nonkululeko Mlaba (South Africa): Nonkululeko Mlaba has registered her name in the record book by performing brilliantly in the Test against England. She took four wickets in the first innings and 6 in the second innings. She has become the first South African woman player to take 10 wickets in a Test match.
• Annabel Sutherland (Australia): Sutherland had a fantastic December, scoring runs and taking wickets in ODIs. She won the Player of the Series award against India and was also a standout in the series against New Zealand.
