Dinesh Karthik Joins RCB as Batting Coach and Mentor
Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been appointed as the batting coach and mentor of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). RCB has given this information through a social media post. Karthik officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket with the Indian Premier League (IPL) on June 1 this year.
RCB wrote in its post, “Welcome our keeper Dinesh Karthik, back to RCB in a new avatar.” DK will be the batting coach and mentor of the RCB men’s team. You can take the person out of cricket, but you cannot remove cricket from the person. Lots of love to him, 12th Man Army.

Karthik’s Remarkable Career
Dinesh Karthik has had an illustrious career, winning two ICC trophies with the Indian national team—the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Karthik has played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20 Internationals for India. Karthik won the ICC trophy as well as the Asia Cup for India in 2010 and 2018.

Success in the IPL
Dinesh Karthik is one of the few players who have played all the IPL seasons so far. He played 257 matches in this league and scored 4,842 runs at an average of 26.32. Apart from RCB, Karthik also played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, Gujarat Lions, and Kings XI Punjab and won his only IPL trophy in 2013 while with Mumbai Indians.

Dinesh Karthik turned 39 on June 1 this year, on this occasion he announced his retirement through a social media post. He also shared a video along with the retirement post. The video includes pictures of important moments of Karthik’s career.
