Dwayne Bravo Retires from CPL Due to Injury

Former West Indies captain and veteran player Dwayne Bravo has said goodbye to cricket. Bravo, who was playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), had to retire midway due to an injury. While fielding against the St. Lucia Kings, he suffered a back injury while attempting to catch captain Faf du Plessis. After the injury, Bravo immediately left the field and did not bowl a single over. Due to this injury, he was forced to end his cricket career before the CPL playoffs.

Dwayne Bravo achieved the remarkable feat of taking the most wickets in T20 cricket. He had previously announced his retirement, stating that he would retire at the conclusion of the tournament. However, due to his injury, he had to retire midway through the Caribbean Premier League.

Informing fans via his social media, Bravo said,

“There is no longer harmony between my mind and body. I don’t want to disappoint my teammates and cricket fans.”

Dwayne Bravo Cricket Career Achievements:

Bravo has won titles in various cricket leagues, including the IPL, PCL, and Big Bash. In his career, he was part of the West Indies team that won the World T20 Championship twice. In T20 cricket, he took 631 wickets in 582 matches, placing him second only to Kieron Pollard.

In addition to being a player, Bravo also worked as a cricket coach, training in several T20 leagues. In CPL 2021, he mentored Dominic Drakes, leading the team to victory, with Drakes winning the Player of the Match award in the final.
