In the England-Namibia match in Antigua, the rain made the batting strong. Due to this, the tension of the defending champions increased. But, finally, the match which was supposed to start at 10.30 started at 1.30. In this match of 11-11 overs, Namibia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Namibia’s Chase and England’s Playoff Prospects
According to DLS, Namibia was set a target of 127 runs in 10 overs. Openers Mitchell van Lingen and Nicolas Devine got Namibia off to a good start, but they couldn’t sustain the desired run rate. Devin (18) was retired in the seventh over. David Wiese came in with Namibia needing 83 off 24 balls.
Wiese picked up 20 runs while washing Adil Rashid in the 8th over. 55 off 12 balls was still for Namibia to score. Lingen was caught for 34 and returned. He added 36 runs in 18 balls with Vis. Namibia managed to score 84 for 3 in 10 overs and England won the match by 41 runs according to DLS. Vise was dismissed for 27 runs in 12 balls. This was his last World Cup tournament. So everyone wished him the best for the future.
