Naveen debuted in ILT20 with Sharjah Warriors in 2023 but declined to play the subsequent season, prompting a complaint from Sharjah Warriors that resulted in the ban.
Additionally, Naveen announced retirement from ODI cricket after the World Cup.
In IPL 2023, a clash between Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq stirred controversy, involving an argument with Gautam Gambhir.
However, during the World Cup, Virat resolved their dispute without hostility.
