Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who dominated the cricketing world by breaking records, has now seen his legacy echoed in the historic performance of Virat Kohli.
Kohli, following in the footsteps of Sachin, has etched his name in history by surpassing the records set by his idol.
Kohli now holds the record for scoring the most centuries (50) in ODI World Cup history. Sachin Tendulkar, acknowledging Kohli’s remarkable achievement, extended his congratulations to the determined player.
The first time I met you in the Indian dressing room, you were pranked by other teammates into touching my feet. I couldn’t stop laughing that day. But soon, you touched my heart with your passion and skill. I am so happy that that young boy has grown into a ‘Virat’ player.

Sachin wrote a post appreciating Kohli’s outstanding knock.
Sachin’s post to Virat: “When we first met, teammates pranked you, asking you to fall at my feet. I laughed! But your passion and skill won me over. Delighted to see you grow into ‘Virat.’ No greater joy than an Indian breaking my record, especially in a World Cup semi-final on my home ground.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Captain Rohit Sharma set an explosive tone, scoring 47 runs off 29 balls. Shubman Gill then steered the innings with a phenomenal 79 runs.
Unfortunately, due to injury, Gill had to leave the field, and Shreyas Iyer took his place. Virat Kohli meticulously crafted an innings that posed challenges for the New Zealand bowlers, while Iyer adopted an aggressive approach, providing solid support to King Kohli.
Virat made history by scoring 113 runs off 117 balls, becoming the first player in ODI World Cup history to achieve this milestone. With 2 sixes and 9 fours, Virat captured the hearts of the fans.
