Harbhajan Singh on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Future
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still have a lot to offer to Indian cricket. According to Harbhajan, Virat Kohli’s exceptional fitness could allow him to continue playing at the international level for the next five years, while Rohit Sharma, the Test and ODI captain, could easily play for at least two more years. “Rohit can easily play for two more years. Looking at Virat Kohli’s fitness, you never know that he will keep competing for five years. He is probably the fittest player in the team,” Harbhajan said in an exclusive interview with PTI.

Balancing Seniority and Performance
While Harbhajan Singh acknowledges the value of experienced players, he also stresses the importance of performance. He believes that both senior and junior players should be selected based on their fitness and contribution to the team. “The selectors have to see that if someone is not performing well, he should be dropped. Be it a senior player or a junior. But as long as everyone is fit, they should be selected in the team,” he said. Harbhajan also highlighted the hunger of young players like Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill, suggesting that their drive can be crucial for the team’s future success.
