The T20 World Cup 2024 has kicked off with immense excitement as teams worldwide compete for the prestigious title. Prize Money and Financial Rewards
The T20 World Cup tournament has been organized by the International Cricket Association. This tournament will be held in America and West Indies. So far three matches have been played in this tournament. Meanwhile, ICC announced the prize money for this tournament on Monday (June 3). Money will be showered on the winning and runner-up teams of this tournament. ICC said that this time the prize money will cost Rs 93.51 crore. The last time the tournament was held in Australia, England got Rs 12 crore. This amount has almost doubled this time. The winning team will get Rs 20.36 crore. 36 lakhs more than the IPL champion team. IPL winning team Kolkata Knight Riders got Rs 20 crore. The ODI World Cup winning team received an amount of Rs 33 crores. The 2023 ODI World Cup was won by Australia. Runner-up India got Rs 16.59 crore.

The runner-up team in the tournament will get Rs 10.63 crore. The team that lost in the semi-final will get Rs 6.54 crore. The teams in the Super 8 round will get Rs 3.17 crore. The teams ranked ninth to 12th will get Rs 2 crore. Also, the teams ranked 13th to 20th will get Rs 1.87 crore. Apart from this, the winning teams will get an additional 25.89 lakh prize money for each match except the semi-final and final winners. A total of 55 matches will be played in the T20 World Cup. 40 matches will be played in the league round. Then the thrill of the Super 8 round will take place. There will be 12 matches in the Super 8 round. There will be a semi-final and final match.
Tournament Structure and Schedule:
For the first time, 20 teams have participated in the T20 World Cup. Group A consists of USA-Canada-India-Ireland-Pakistan. Namibia-Oman-Australia-England-Scotland are in Group B. West Indies-Papua New Guinea-Afghanistan-New Zealand-Uganda are in Group C. Bangladesh-South Africa-Sri Lanka-Nepal-Netherlands are in Group D. The final match of this tournament will be played on June 29. India’s first match will be against Ireland on June 5. After that, there will be a match against Pakistan on June 9, America on June 12, and Canada on June 15. The final match of the T20 World Cup is on June 29.
