Rahul Dravid Returns as Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals
Former Indian captain and renowned coach, Rahul Dravid, has been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR) on a multi-year contract. Dravid, who recently ended his stint as the coach of the Indian team after winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados, expressed his excitement about rejoining the franchise. He stated, “Rajasthan Royals feels like home. After the World Cup, I felt it was the right time to take on a new challenge, and RR is the perfect place for it.” Dravid was part of the Royals from 2011 to 2015, where he started his coaching journey.

Dravid’s Vision for Rajasthan Royals
Dravid will be working closely with RR’s cricket director, Kumar Sangakkara, and the rest of the team to take the franchise to new heights. Sangakkara praised Dravid’s ability to develop players and prepare them for top-level cricket, saying, “What Rahul has achieved as a coach over the past decade is incredible. His experience will be crucial for our team’s success.” Dravid’s main focus now is to help the Royals prepare for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction and team selection.

A Storied Coaching Career
Before rejoining RR, Rahul Dravid had a successful coaching career with Delhi Capitals, the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and India’s Under-19 team, leading them to World Cup success in 2018. As the head coach of India’s senior team, Dravid achieved significant milestones, including winning the Asia Cup and leading the team to finals in the ODI World Cup and World Test Championship in 2023. His wealth of experience will be invaluable to Rajasthan Royals as they aim for success in the upcoming IPL seasons.
