India vs New Zealand: A Key Battle in the Women’s T20 World Cup
India and New Zealand teams will face each other at the international cricket ground in Dubai. This is the ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Australia has seen the upper hand in the World Cup. India has reached the final of the 2020 T20 World Cup once. Then Australia was defeated. But India has once again dreamed of winning the title and has expressed the belief that it will win the title this year.
This time the Indian team has a good balance of young and experienced players. Asha Shobhana, Shreyanka Patil, Deepti Sharma, and Radha Yadav will be expected as the UAE pitch will help the spinners. India’s batting is also good and has the power to score big runs. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana will be responsible for giving the team a good start. Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemima Rodrigues will recover the innings in the middle order. While Richa Ghosh and Pooja Vastrakar will help India score big in the death overs.
The New Zealand team has not been in great form in recent times. New Zealand have lost their last 10 T20 matches. They have lost seven against England and three against Australia. New Zealand were runners-up in 2009 and 2010. But the title was not achieved. So it will be a comforting thing for India. On the other hand, Dubai’s pitch is spin-friendly. Five women’s T20 matches have been played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The teams batting first have won two matches while the chasing teams have won three times. The average score in the first innings is just 90.
India and New Zealand have faced each other 13 times. The New Zealand team seems to be strong in statistics. New Zealand has won 9 matches while India has won only 4 matches. Therefore, the attention of sports lovers is on what exactly happens in this match.
