Yashasvi scored a brilliant century in India’s second innings in the first Test match at Optus Stadium in Perth.
IND vs AUS: Yashasvi Jaiswal Shines with Century in Second Innings
Yashasvi, who flopped in the first innings, batted brilliantly in the second and did not let any Australian bowler dominate him. This is Yashasvi’s fourth century in Tests.
Yashasvi was out early in the first innings. He did not know the Australian pitches and hence made a mistake in shot selection. But in the second inning, Yashasvi understood this and focused on his shots. Mitchell Starc provoked him a lot to make a mistake in the first innings but Yashasvi comfortably defended the ball and defended the short-length ball instead of driving it. He also comfortably faced the body attack of the Australian bowlers.
Jaiswal’s Milestone Moment
Yashasvi did not hurry and waited for the bad balls. After completing his half-century, Yashasvi completely dominated the Australian bowlers. From here he also showed his aggressive attitude. Yashasvi completed his century by hitting a six on the fifth ball of the 63rd over.
With this, Yashasvi has become the third batsman of India to score a century in his first Test match in Australia. Before him, Sunil Gavaskar and Narasimha have done this.
This happened after the 1977
Sunil Gavaskar played his first Test match in Australia in 1977 and scored 113 runs. Before him, M Jaisimha scored 101 runs in his first Test match in Australia in 1968. After these two, Yashasvi scored a century in his first Test match in Australia.
