In the India-Pakistan ICC ODI World Cup match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first. During Babar Azam’s innings, he faced taunts from Indian fans. The Indian bowlers did well to dismiss the openers Abdullah Shafiq (20) and Imam-ul-Haq (36) early in the innings. Abdullah Shafiq was bowled in the 8th over, and Imam was caught by wicketkeeper Lokesh Rahul in the 13th over, thanks to Hardik Pandya. However, both openers showed resilience against Jasprit Bumrah.

Later, there was a close LBW (Leg Before Wicket) appeal against Babar Azam while facing Kuldeep Yadav. Rohit Sharma decided to review the decision, but the umpire’s call saved Babar. He was also caught by Hardik Pandya at some point. Babar and Mohammad Rizwan played well, consistently hitting boundaries. In the 30th over, Babar got dismissed Siraj for a boundary, but Siraj bounced back, taking Babar’s wicket on the fourth ball and sending him back for 50 runs off 58 balls with 7 fours. Babar and Rizwan had a partnership of 83 runs.
