Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma batted explosively as soon as they entered the field and secured the victory. Both of them added 100 runs in the power play itself. After this, both of them maintained their hold. Both made an unbeaten opening winning partnership of 167 runs in 9.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs with the help of 6 sixes and 8 fours at a strike rate of 267.86. Whereas Travis Head scored 89 runs in 30 balls with the help of 8 sixes and 8 fours at a strike rate of 296.67. Both of them thoroughly defeated the Lucknow bowlers.

Other hand, Lucknow won the toss and decided to bat. Lucknow had a shaky start and reached 66 runs for 4 wickets.
