IND vs SA 2nd Test: Mohammad Siraj Creates History After 122 Years; Watch the Video

IND vs SA 2nd Test : The Indian team entered the field determined to draw the Test series. Mohammad Siraj and the pair of Jasprit Bumrah gave the host South Africa a shock.

In the last 32 years, India has never won a series on African soil. This year too, the same was seen and the hosts maintained their dominance. But, in the second test, the Indian bowlers did their best.

South Africa have won the toss and elected to bat first. Two major changes have been made to the Indian team for this match, with Ravindra Jadeja and Mukesh Kumar getting a chance, while R Ashwin and Shardul Thakur have been dropped.

The duo of Aidan Markram and Dean Elgar came in to open and hit just 20 balls. In the fourth over, Aidan (2) was caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal and sent back.

The hero of the previous match and the captain of this Test, Elgar (4) also gave India a big success by making a hat-trick by Siraj.

Tony DeGeorge (2) and debutant Tristan Stubbs (3) couldn’t do much either. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Stubbs in the 9th over, while Siraj cleared George’s hurdle to reduce Africa to a miserable 15 for 4.

For the third time at home, Africa’s leading 4 batsmen returned for 15 runs. This is the first time since 1902 (4-12 vs. Australia, Cape Town) that Africa has been in such a bad state.

Before that in 1889 against England at Cape Town only 4 batsmen returned for 12 runs.

In the Melbourne Test against Australia in 1932, 4 of Africa’s leading batsmen returned with 5 runs or less. Today, after 92 years, he became this state.
