IND vs SA Test – Rituraj Gaikwad was selected for the T20I, ODI and Test series against South Africa. He did not get a chance to play in the T20 series. But in the ODI series, he was the opening batsman.
Rituraj could not play in the third ODI against South Africa due to injury. Now he will not play in the Test series but has returned to his home country. So Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has performed well in domestic cricket, can get a place in the Indian Test team.
Abhimanyu, currently in South Africa with India A, might join the Test series as a potential replacement for Rituraj in the team. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Abhimanyu represents Bengal in domestic cricket.
Given his first-class performances, he may be included in the Test squad against South Africa. Abhimanyu bats as an opener in domestic cricket. So Team India will get a good batsman.
The 28-year-old Abhimanyu has so far played 88 first-class matches and has scored 6567 runs in 152 innings at an average of 47.24. So far he has scored 22 centuries and 26 fifties. His best innings is 233 runs.
