In the very next over, Mohammad Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka, who was caught out by Jadeja. After this, wickets kept falling continuously.
Mohammad Siraj broke the back of the Sri Lankan team by taking 4 wickets in 1 over. Hardik Pandya, who came to bowl from the other end, also performed brilliantly and took 3 wickets. The entire Sri Lankan team was all out for just 50 runs in 15.2 overs.
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan came to bat on behalf of the Indian team and scored 51 runs in 6.1 overs without losing any wicket. Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten after scoring 23 runs, while Shubman Gill scored 27 runs. It is worth noting that Shubman Gill is the highest run-scorer for India in the Asia Cup. He has also scored an excellent century against Bangladesh.
